All of us have been hit in various ways by the increases in fuel prices. As a result people are limiting their trips to go shopping and other outings that aren't necessary. Using the internet allows you to compare prices at many locations without using your vehicle to do so. You can then order from the site that offers you the best deal. Just make sure you compare prices with the shipping included. This way you will pay the least amount necessary to get what you want.
Time is a factor as well because most of us have very busy schedules. Getting to the mall to go look around can be hard when they are only open the same hours as you work. There is also the issue of dealing with the crowds and finding parking. If you have children you will have to take them along or secure child care.
With online shopping, you can do it any time of the day or the night. You can do it in your pajamas on a Sunday afternoon if you wish. You can also do it at 2 am if that is when you are up. Of course the mall isn't open at that time but you can effortlessly complete all of your shopping.
There is also the issue of selection. If you live in a small town like I do, there aren't too many places to shop. Yet with the internet I can buy what I want from all over the world. So it doesn't matter that my options are limited here. I can buy great items that are unique from what everyone else around me is buying locally as well.
